A Bernardino Lanino Drawing viewing in Santa Barbara this May 2026
I am grateful to have had the opportunity to go to the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, in this Marian month of May, to view a drawing that has been close to my heart for a long time. The drawing was, Head of a Veiled Woman, Looking Down, by Bernardino Lanino, Vercelli, Italy, 1540. Thank you to Olivia Giampietro, assistant registrar at the museum. The drawing was not currently on display, so she took us into the collection storage vault and informed us that the drawing was a gif

Visiting a past art work and thoughts on time travel
“The Time Traveler” Travel - Time Travel Physics - Metaphysics Modern- Metamodern Museo - The Art Tourism App recently referred to this artwork as "timeless". This is a large hand stretched oil on canvas that I did back in the early 90’s. I lived in SOHO in New York City, on Thompson Street at the time. I had just returned from a trip traveling throughout Germany. My Mom was born in Silesia, a part of Germany that is now Poland, so it was a great time to take a family trip

Altruism 101
I painted this back in my NYC illustrator days for the cover of the Pomona College Magazine for an article headlined "Altruism 101" Altruism is defined as a concern for the well being of others. Now more than ever, with the lockdowns, testing and the recent fear and rage shown in the USA this week, I felt compelled to share what is for me an image that projects kindness, love and respect. Acrylic on board. 8" x 10" . #altruism #decency #kindness #love #respect #earth #lanino
