Why I titled this painting "Hope"

Updated: Nov 7, 2020

I painted this piece five years ago and find myself reflecting upon it during the pandemic, as it promises that season of rebirth and hope that we are all looking forward to. I find it a concept to hold on to in these difficult times. People with resilient outlooks are less vulnerable to physical and emotional illness. Resilience is also hope. Hope can energize and mobilize us.

I used yellow in this piece as it is cheerful and energizing. Trees have also been a theme in my work for many years from my illustrative works in New York to my Jacaranda series today. #hope #resilience #stayhealthy #bounceback #rebirth #trees
